First peer-reviewed paper on the myEcoCost approach published

The first peer-reviewed paper on the myEcoCost approach and interim results has been published: Entitled “Forming the Nucleus of a Novel Ecological Accounting System: the myEcoCost Approach”, it is published in the Journal “Key Engineering Materials”, Volume 572 (2014) ISSN 1013-9826, pp78-83. myEcoCost team organised a Special Session at ADM 2013 Conference in Valencia

The myEcoCost team organised a Special Session “Environmental Accounting” at the 5th International Conference on Advanced Design and Manufacture, Valencia, 26th September 2013. Chaired by the myEcoCost project leader Dr. Markus Werner (TGS) and Dr. Justus von Geibler (WI). 10 speakers representing several European FP7 projects (including 6 from the project team) have provided input to interesting discussions. Conference proceedings on the special session have been edited by Prof. Daizhong Su (NTU) and Dr. Markus Werner (TGS). Related material from the special sessions can be found here.

 

Our Advisory Board has met for the first time

The first face-to-face meeting of the myEcoCost Advisory Board has successfully taken place in Wuppertal, 19 November 2013. Eight members of the Advisory Board and eight members of the Consortium participated in the meeting. During the meeting the role of the AB and the status of work and work plans have been presented and discussed. Furthermore recommendations from AB members for the project team have been discussed. Teaching activities at London Imperial College and at University of Wuppertal

Students at Imperial College London attending “The Series” have been introduced to myEcoCost in a 28th November 2013. The purpose of The Series is for students to learn/discuss about social, developmental and environmental projects and issues. The title of the lecture has been “A method to influence consumer behaviour to address global warming – myEcoCost”, presented by Robert Mostyn.

Another teaching activity will take place at University of Wuppertal within the Module “Sustainable Supply Chain Management: Practical Cases and Experiences”, offered in the new Master of Science (M.Sc.) Programme „Sustainability Management“ at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal. It will be offered in the remainder of the winter term 2013 / 2014 by Justus von Geibler. myEcoCost presents at World Resources Forum in Davos

Klaus Wiesen and Sten-Erik Björling represented the myEcoCost team at World Resources Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
The presentation “A global collaborative accounting network to calculate the resource use of products and services“ illustrated the accounting framework and brought up an interesting discussion with an overall positive feedback by the audience.
